Youth Work Experience Program (YWEP)

Under the 2009-10 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) (a/k/a Stimulus money) the MA Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) was able to fund the following Tri-CAP special initiative.
Program Description
............................................................................................................................................................. Twenty at-risk, out-of-school youth will receive job readiness skills training to enhance their employability. Ten will participate in work experience, matched to their skills and career goals. Positive outcomes include enrollment in education/training, as well as employment. The program will operate from January through September 2010.

Eligibility

- Tri-City resident
- 16 - 24 year-old out-of-school, at-risk youth
- Income no more than 200% of the poverty level
