Introduction to Word Processing:  Word Pad is 4-session course is designed for people who have a limited amount of computer experience. It covers an overview/review of opening & closing  programs, how to find programs (start menu or shortcuts), and save to disk.  They’ll learn the essentials of backspace versus delete, how to change fonts & font sizes, use the Attributes (bold, italics, underline), and use the Ruler to change margin & tab settings.  Students will create & save a document, then learn how to open it to make edits and insert graphics (photo or clip art).  Instructors may choose different kinds of simple projects so students leave the class with an understanding of how to use the program but also have a completed greeting card, letter with graphics, or similar final product.
