Head Start

     Head Start is a free child and family development program for low income families with preschoolers (ages 3-5) offering education, health services, social services, nutrition, parent involvement activities, mental health and services to those with disabilities.  Children attend class five days a week, four hours a day,  receiving breakfast and lunch daily. 

Head Start Wrap Around Program

The Main Street site is a model for a Head Start Wrap Around Program that provides care for preschool children in a full day, full year manner to assist parents who are in training or employed. The full year schedule will allow parents to continue or pursue education, employment training or work opportunities so families can strive towards economic self-sufficiency while their children attend a high quality early childhood program.

Teacher Training Internship Program

Our program offers a 9 month practicum experience for adults interested in becoming Early Education and Care Teacher qualified to teach in Massachusetts preschools, day care and Head Start classrooms. The Internship includes a 3-credit college course in Child Development, as well as First Aid and CPR. Supervision, observation and feedback are provided. Open to those with a HS Diploma or GED, with a CORI check. 9 month commitment.

Small Wonders provides a comprehensive child development program that meets the educational, social, health, nutritional and emotional needs of families with children 3 to 5 years old, with emphasis on parent involvement. The Program operates full day, full year with flexible options available.

Parents may qualify for tuition on a sliding fee scale after qualifying for income if residing in Stoneham, Melrose and Wakefield or private pay.

Summer Lunch Program 

Healthy, nutritious summer lunches are delivered and handed out at five locations in Everett. No registration or applications necessary (ages 1-18).
