Advocacy offers crisis intervention, education, information and referral to families and individuals seeking to meet their basic needs for shelter, income, clothing, and health care. Advocacy provides information and referral, clothing, and benefits and health care advocacy to all low income Tri-City residents. In addition, the program provides housing counseling for people with HIV/AIDS and operates a Homeless Mobile Outreach Team which provides assistance to homeless individuals seeking housing, income, and mental health/substance abuse services.
Pro Bono Legal Project provides legal information, advice, advocacy, referral, and representation to low income people with civil legal problems related to housing, family law, unemployment, disability, and immigration. Pro Bono Legal Project staff provide services directly and through a panel of volunteer attorneys who offer their services to the program. Residents of Malden, Medford, Everett, Melrose, and Wakefield receive legal help through PBLP. Click here to learn more about accessing this program.
Housing Search helps homeless and at-risk families find and keep permanent affordable housing. Housing Search guides families through the housing and benefits systems while working to find public, private, and subsidized housing which very low income families can afford and maintain.
